    Yeah, easier said than done – or rather, felt. Maybe we should start telling people why they are wrong more often, and not be too sensitive about the whole thing. You get a gift, I get a gift, everyone gets a gift of course correction through thoughtful explanation.

    Well, of course the world is a bigger place than one feedback loop! It is millions, and millions more, cognitions taking input and giving output. And “there is no hope” spreads throughout the social system, very much like “there actually is”.

    Systems, of course, always have both as directions where they can head. Feed too much of one thing and it turns into a weakness.

    This is not to say there always is hope, but that hope is generated and strengthened in regular feedback loops between cognition and the world. It is not discovered one time and then magically sustained without effort.
